Sculptober 2020 - Nature

General / 21 October 2020

I've been a bit slow with sculpting this month, between work, a couple birthday presents I want to make and other challenges, but Sculptober really has me inspired into creating overall...

Since starting this challenge, I've been quite creative that it's even affecting my sleep hours as of now.

Anyway, here's a small turntable of another prompt: Nature. I sculpted Makar the korok, a creature from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Took me around 2hrs.

This sculpt was based on an illustration I found on Pinterest by Veep illustration.

Sculptober Day 9 - wing

General / 10 October 2020

Started the challenge this weekend between free time of my other projects. I will try to make super short sculpts with the prompts.

For the Wing prompt I went with a fanart of my favorite bird pokemon: Torchic!

Some UI Design for Cool Earth - Timelapse of workflow

General / 11 September 2020

Hello guys!

I just want to share the news that the first public playable version of Cool Earth went live this week!

This is an indie educational mobile game I've been working on for quite a while. It's still under development. I've been tasked with the UI design and character creation. But not long ago I've started to document my art workflow for both personal record and for sharing it in the community, so I've made a timelapse of what I was working the week before this launch:

We are a small team working on making fun educational games. This one's about global warming awareness put together in a little single-player mobile game where you'll play classic minigames and help reduce the CO2 emissions on Earth. Available only for Android.

Feel free to check it out (: And if you do, let me know waht you think/any feedback.

Plans for the week and More Dragon WIPs

Work In Progress / 07 September 2020

An update on the progress of the sculpt of a dragon I'm plan on making an illustration with its renders.

The illustration consists of a falling star that lands in the dragons head, waking it from its sleep.

I still need to work on placing the star and adjusting the weight of it's head with the hit of the star.

Also, for this week I will be making a short devlog video of my recent work made for Test Studios Games' Cool Earth, a mobile game about global warming awareness. I feel like I've improved my UI design quite a bit, so I will be sharing the process of getting the design of a couple Widget blueprints in UE4. Stay tuned for it!

Stylized portrait of my cat

General / 03 September 2020

Hello everyone! Just wanted to share a little quick portrait of my cat, sculpted in zBrush, for a 1-2hrs practice.

I'm starting to record time-lapses of my practices lately, so here's how the practice went by.

As for the Dragon illustration I'm working on, I've slowly made some progress on it this week. Will continue working on it on the weekend since I've got another work on an indie mobile game I'm working on that will be ready for this weekend too (: Will show you some of my work on that game too soon.

Plans for the Week - WIPs and sketches

Work In Progress / 31 August 2020

Hello everyone! This week I'm working on a little personal project.

I'm making an illustration using 3D tools. I will be making a scene and render it, trying to create a little story around the character I'm creating.

For the moment I got a dragon, which is the main character of the scene. Here's a demonstration of how it has evolved from initial block out to where it is now:

I will be adding a bit of asymmetry to it to give it a natural reaction in the scene I'm going to make later on.

Quick sketch of how I want to build the scene:

Starting a blog - Personal artworks and WIPs

General / 20 August 2020

Hello everyone!

Now that I have ArtStation Pro I will be using the blog feature to post updates on personal projects that not necessarily fit as final pieces for my portfolio and their work-in-progress.

Also, I can share sneak peaks of my sketchbook. Even though I work mostly on 3D, having a sketchbook has always being important to me, so I will be able to share part of it here too.

zBrush Speedsculpt | 2 hour-ish practice

I'll start with this small head concept for a stylized creature I practiced this month. Wanted to practice doing some rendering and compositing using Marmoset Toolbag and Photoshop.

I'm also starting to share my process and workflow over on YouTube, so feel free to check them out. For this one, I made a zbrush time-lapse video:

Feedback is welcome!

Another thing is that during this practice I was thinking about the cute dragons from TheFireSeal on IG, I'm loving his creature designs (:
